Atigrado Spanish Jennet
This is the division for Lp (Appaloosa) patterned, Paso or Paso Fino gaited horses called the Spanish Jennet (Paso Tiger horses). They are a minimum of 50% purebred Paso or Paso Fino horse. Only one outcross is allowed (to obtain Lp or Appaloosa or Tiger pattern). All 50% crosses will provide video proof of gait before registration of their offspring.
All crosses after the first generation must be to a Registered Atigrado (Tiger) Spanish Jennet or to a purebred, non-pinto, non-grey Paso or Paso Fino horse.
Non-Lp patterned female offspring from these registered individuals will be registered as breeding stock. (Designated as “BS-A” may be used for the Atigrado division only.) Non-Lp patterned male offspring from these registered individuals must be gelded before registration. Non-Lp patterned horses may not compete in the show ring. Additionally, purebred Paso and Paso Fino sires and dams of Atigrado offspring maybe registered as Spanish Jennet breeding stock (designated BS-*), but may not compete in the show ring.
To be eligible for registration a horse must a minimum of 50% purebred Paso or Paso Fino horse, or be the verified offspring of registered Spanish Jennet horses. All Paso or Paso Fino horses must be registered with one of the approved registries listed below or give proof by parental verification of their parentage, then be registered as Spanish Jennet breeding stock.
