Pintado Spanish Jennet
This is the division for pinto patterned Paso or Paso Fino gaited horses called the Spanish Jennet. They are pure bred, Paso or Paso Fino, gaited, non-gray horses and are marked with any pinto pattern.
Non-patterned offspring from these individuals will be registered as Spanish Jennet breeding stock (designated as “BS-*” may be used for either the Pintado or Atigrado division), but may not compete in the show ring. Additionally, non-patterned sires and dams of pinto offspring maybe registered as Spanish Jennet breeding stock, but may not compete in the show ring.
Non-patterned, non-gray pure-bred Paso or Paso Fino sires and dams of Pintado Spanish Jennet offspring maybe registered as breeding stock.
Any horse foaled after Jan. 1, 2004 whose sire or dam is gray shall be ineligible for registration in the Spanish Jennet Horse society. Any horse foaled before Jan. 1, 2004 whose sire or dam is gray shall be eligible for registration in the Spanish Jennet Horse Society only after satisfactory proof is given of the absence of the gray gene.
To be eligible for registration a horse must be a purebred Paso or Paso Fino horse registered with one of the approved registries listed below or give proof by parental verification that they are the offspring of registered Paso or Paso Fino horses, or be the verified offspring of registered Spanish Jennet horses.
